As we bring Settlement Maple Grove to a close, we want to pause and reflect on what we accomplished together.

From the beginning, our shared goal was to ensure that the voices of neighbors were heard and respected in the process surrounding the Sacred Settlement. Through persistence and collaboration, we succeeded in gaining an authentic meeting with church leadership—an opportunity that would not have come without our collective effort. We stood up for our community when we felt our concerns were overlooked, and we brought those concerns into the forefront of the discussion.

Beyond meetings and statements, we also raised awareness across our neighborhoods and beyond with digital and physical marketing campaigns. We engaged lawmakers at the state capitol as well as our local city leaders. Together, we helped our community better understand the potential impacts of the Sacred Settlement and why we feel it must be done right, while demonstrating that neighbors can unite to ask thoughtful, important questions in the spirit of stewardship.

Though Settlement Maple Grove’s work as an organized group is ending, we close with gratitude for your commitment and engagement. We hope that the foundation we laid will continue to inspire constructive dialogue and accountability. Most of all, we extend a message of hope—that the Sacred Settlement will find peaceful success, serving both its residents and the wider community with dignity, compassion, and harmony.
